Liferay Portal Enterprise version 4.0.0.Liferay Portal is an open source Java/J2EE portal system that helps organizations collaborate more efficiently by providing a consolidated view of disparate applications. Liferay has an extensive list of features such as themes, personalization, built-in content management system (CMS), internationalization, and a web based administration interface. Liferay provides over fifty useful portlets including Blogs, Shopping, Message Boards, Wiki, Mail, Journal (CMS), Polls, and RSS. This plugin requires a database pool named "liferay-datasource". The plugin dependency system will automatically download and install a Derby datasource from the plugin repository unless a database pool with that name already exists in Geronimo. The Derby datasource is useful for development and testing but for production systems an enterprise class database may be desired. A datasource for an enterprise class database can be created using the database pool wizard in the Geronimo administration console. Last updated on 10/11/2006
